Admission Requirements

[DBA] Doctor of Business Administration

  • Possess a master’s degree awarded by Institutions accredited by agencies that are recognized by the United States Secretary of Education and/or the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA) or, for non-U.S. Institutions, an accepted foreign equivalent that is listed in the International Handbook of Universities (Current edition).
  • Graduate grade point average of at least 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale) or its equivalent.
  • Doctoral level courses with grade of B or higher (3.0 on a 4.0 scale) from an Institution as defined above can be considered for transfer. A maximum of 9 credits can be transferred into the doctorate level program. (NOTE: Additional credits may be transferred under special conditions. Contact the info@apollos.edu for more information.) 
  • Copy of government ID and Résumé or Curriculum Vitae (CV)
  • Successfully complete the AU Orientation Program Class

CONDITIONAL STATUS FOR GRADUATE LEVEL

Doctoral applicants who cannot meet the above requirements may petition to be accepted on a conditional basis. If accepted, the student will be permitted to take a maximum of four courses in a Conditional Acceptance status. The student must achieve a GPA of 3.0 or higher at the end of the four courses. If the student’s GPA is lower than the required 3.0 at the end of the four courses, the student’s status will be changed to Terminated and the student can no longer take classes.

APPLICANTS WHOSE NATIVE LANGUAGE IS OTHER THAN ENGLISH

All programs at APOLLOS are taught strictly in English. Applicants whose native language is not English and who have not earned a degree from an appropriately accredited institution where English is the principal language of instruction must demonstrate college-level proficiency in English through one of the following:

  • Test of English As a Foreign Language (TOEFL) or International English Language Test (IELTS) o Professional Doctoral Degree: a minimum score of 550 on the paper-based Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL PBT), or 80 on the Internet Based Test (iBT), a 6.5 on the International English Language Test (IELTS), or 58 on the PTE** Academic Score Report.
  • A minimum grade of Level 3 on the ACT COMPASS’s English as a Second Language Placement Test;
  • A minimum grade of Pre-1 on the Eiken English Proficiency Exam;
  • A minimum B2 English proficiency level identified within the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR) standards and assessed through various ESOL examinations, including the University of Cambridge;
  • A transcript indicating completion of at least 30 semester hours of credit with an average grade of “C” or higher at an appropriately* accredited college or university where the language of instruction was English; “B” or higher for Professional Doctoral Degrees.
